We have a seaside holiday every year in Wales, and we love being on the beach – as long as it's a dry day, we're on the beach. My girls also have many happy memories of their seaside holidays – proof that you don't need to spend a lot of money to keep children happy on holiday.

I love the sense of space and the peace that the recurring rhythm of the waves always brings me.

Love the fresh air and the fact that it costs nothing to have fun at the beach but most of all – love the fact that we are moving to be only a 10 min drive to the beach from JULY and I can't wait!

We love the freedom of the seaside, the smell in the air, the sand between your toes, going back to childhood building sandcastles and of course the ice cream – especially from the ice cream shop in Whitstable where you can get all your essentials for the beach in addition to the ice cream. Oooh I'd love to live beside the seaside.

What a gorgeous looking book. I'd love to be closer to the sea. Our favourite thing is always rockpooling, 'rescuing' all kinds of poor seaside fauna. My sister called my new baby nephew after our family's favourite beach in Wales – his middle name is Caswell. Thanks for a lovely giveaway x

I already follow your blog by GFC.(ps. I love my kindle, but only for novels. There's no way it can replace books with beautiful photos or illustrations)

I love everything about the sea. Walking along the beach, swimming in the sea, collecting washed up driftwood. I love the way it blows all the cobwebs away…

What do I love about the sea? … living by it, seeing it as I drive to and from town, seeing the sun reflected in it as it sets, seeing it sparkle in sunlight during the day, seeing miles and miles of Golden Sand, watching the waves crash against the rocks and roll into the beach, or gently lapping on the quiet days, I love seeing in it in good weather or bad, but most of all I love to go on a hot summers day, take off my shoes and paddle while throwing the ball for my darling doggy into the waves and watching her bounce into the sea after it! 🙂

I'm not a UK resident, but I just wanted to say I'm with you on the Kindle issue. I talked about that recently on my blog, in response to an Orah magazine article about organizing your books by replacing them with a reader. Horrors! We love playing on the beach, nothing better than feeling the sand between your toes and watching the children (and dads) building sandcastles. Oh and a nice bag of chips and a walk along the sea front 🙂

There is no better feeling than whipping off your shoes and feeling the sand beneath your feet and running through your toes.. Unfortunately the beach where we visit our relative every year in Devon has been mainly shingle for the past few years due to the changes of the tide, so it is more ouch ouch ouch as we head for the water! Favourite thing at the seaside? Finding a small, quiet, sandy beach surrounded by hills or cliffs and walking along it at the end of a sunny day about an hour before sunset, talking, laughing and paddling.
