The Luxury Leesa Mattress – 3 Year Update

Leesa Mattress Update – Mattresses have become the unlikely new big ‘thing’ in home and interior trends over the last few years.  People have ‘woken up’ (sorry, couldn’t resist) to the fact that the quality of your mattress directly affects the quality of your sleep and general health.

I was very fortunate to be approached by * Leesa, the luxury online mattress company almost three years ago with an offer to review one of their innovative performance foam mattresses.  The offer couldn’t have come at a better time, my husband and I were suffering with nightly interrupted sleep and all manner of aches and pains bought on by our old, poor quality mattress.

The Leesa is designed with three premium foams.  The first helps to keep you cool, essential for me.  As a woman of a certain age, I suffered from regular nightly flushes which made for extremely uncomfortable sleep. The second allows for body contouring, this for my husband and I was a revelation !  The super soft initial feel of the mattress as you sit on the side of the bed, is replaced by a wonderful cocooning support as you lay down and your weigh is distributed across the mattress.  Our weight does affect how well we sleep and both of us have put on a considerable amount over the last ten years or so (boo ).  That’s where the third layer  of pressure relieving core support comes in.  We used to suffer from aching, sore hips as we shifted onto our sides and back pain from lying on a hard, poor quality mattress for so many years. This has all but gone now, we are most definitely sleeping a comfortable, better quality sleep these days.

I took all these photographs this weekend (the one below is obviously a stock photograph from Leesa).  It has been nearly three years since we received our Leesa so I though you might like to see that the mattress is still as great as the first day we put it on our bed.  If you look closely at the pics you might see that we have a very, very slight bump in the middle of the mattress where hubby and I sleep on our own sides of the bed.  Nightly use and our weight, hasn’t made much of a dent which was a concern of mine when we first received it.  I couldn’t understand how a mattress that comes compressed and in a box could possible be a long lasting solution to poor sleep, but it honestly is.  Both of us have much improved sleep, we feel so much better for getting (mostly) uninterrupted sleep.  We both still wake up from time to time but that would be more an bladder issue than a mattress thing, ha! Sorry, over share.

Please do take a look at my original post where you can read all the information about LEESA HERE

We also received Leesa Mattresses for our twin boys – I do think we tend to forget how important quality sleep is for our children.  You can see that post HERE

If you think you might like to try a Leesa Mattress, here are a few quick facts:

  • Universal adaptive feel: Engineered with three layers of premium foam materials that work together to adjust to the body of each individual, so it feels incredible, whether you are a back, stomach or side sleeper.

  • Easier shopping: The Leesa mattress is delivered straight to your door, vacuum packed in a box, and with our excellent customer experience team on hand to support along your journey to better sleep.

  • 100-night risk-free trial: We believe that the best way to try out a new mattress is by testing it in your own home over a long period of time. We therefore offer a 100-night risk-free trial to all our customers, meaning if you aren’t sleeping better, we can arrange for the mattress to be collected and donated or recycled, whilst offering you a full refund.

My eldest has a Leesa and I’m envious of how it feels. She never want to get up in the mornings 🤣

This sounds absolutely fantastic something I need with my medical conditions but they are far to expensive if you did finance I think you would sell these like hot cakes
      Just an input

It’s interesting to hear how a mattress is doing 3 years down the line. Very good by the looks of it!
    Such an important purchase. X

Yes, I have to admit to being doubtful of its longevity in the early days Lucy, but it is doing us proud and we are not light weights ! xx

She took the photos herself! Even the one where you’re looking at the whole bed, the whole pristine bed, in the pristine room, that is big enough for her to put her bed in the middle and have about 6 foot free space all round it! Yeah!

Hi Flopsy Rabbit, thank you for taking the time to read my post and for your comment. Obviously the last pic is a stock photograph from Leesa Mattress. All of the other photographs are of my actual mattress, in my actual bedroom. I only post honest reviews and am truly delighted with my mattress.

We had a Leesa mattress and loved it too. It would still be with us if not for a very sick seven year who covered it in sick. I’d definitely buy another, though.

Your bedroom looks so calm and peaceful! It’s always nice to get a product update and see how it’s fared over a longer period of time. Glad to hear it’s all still good for you.

I’ve got to say, I was so so sceptical about online mattresses a year or so ago but after getting on and sleeping on one, it’s made a massive difference! I like that they’re soft to touch too, as most older mattresses were almost wiry. A great improvement if you ask me!

I couldn’t agree more. I can still remember the springs when I was a child digging into my back ! xx

We have Leesa mattresses at the country cottage and guests always comment on how comfy they are. I’d recommend them too. x

Love your bedroom Karen. Looks so peaceful and serene. I’ve heard so many great things about Leesa. When I need to next replace my mattress Leesa will definitely be one of the options I’ll be looking at.

I don’t want to sound like that 1 odd grumpy person but we have had our mattress for 3.5 years now. My husband is ‘heavy’ and even after a year we have found its now like sleeping on a slope. Disappointed for the amount of money we paid. Oh and the zip broke on the cover somehow.

    • August 1, 2018 / 5:05 pm

Hi Charlotte, you don’t sound like a grump at all. Its important that people are able to give an honest opinion on my blog.
Can I ask whether you turn your mattress at all ? My husband is 6ft 3 inches and weights around 17 stone so he is also not a light weight. We find it certainly helps to turn the mattress round every few months or so to help with weight distribution.
As you can see from my photographs there is only a slight dip after three years on ours.
I would recommend you have a chat to LEESA, who are extremely helpful and will certainly advise you professionally.
      Best wishes
      Karen x

Hi Richard, Thank you for commenting. I can assure you it is our original mattress. We use a mattress cover and I guess, we are just really clean people!

I'd love your comment
